A WOMAN in her fifties has been injured after being pushed to the ground in Woodley yesterday evening (Monday).
The incident took place at around 6.05pm in Sandford Park where the woman was pushed from behind by a man who was jogging.
The victim fell to the ground and suffered an injury which required medical treatment.
The offender fled the scene, and is described as a black man who was wearing dark clothing.
Thames Valley Police has increased its patrols in the area as a result of the attack.
Investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Matt Stone, of Reading Force CID, said: “We are investigating this assault, and are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed it or who has any information relating to it.
“At this time, we are keeping an open mind as to whether this incident is linked to a recent sexual assault in Winnersh.
“If you have any details which you think could help our investigation, please call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101.”
Chief Inspector Sarah Grahame, deputy LPA commander for Bracknell and Wokingham said: “Members of the public may be concerned about this incident, but I would like to reassure them that we have begun a full investigation and enquiries are taking place.
