Fire brigade called out as Binfield Road closed for emergency repairs

SGN on site fixing problem

A fire engine was called out to a road where emergency gas repairs are taking place.

The engine was called out to Binfield Road on Saturday, July 7, as SGN got to work on their fix.

The fire crew didn’t stay long however parts of Binfield Road remain closed to allow the gas company to carry out their work safely.

A statement on SGN’s website revealed the reason for the closure: a water ingress.

The statement said:

“We’re carrying out an emergency repair in Binfield Road, Wokingham following a water ingress to our gas network.

“To ensure everyone’s safety, we’ve closed Binfield Road between the junction with Bean Oak Road and the roundabout leading to Keephatch Road.

“It’s too early to say how long our repair will take but we’ll provide updates.”
