BY CROSFIELDS SCHOOL

On Monday, November 13, Crosfields School welcomed residents from a number of local homes for the elderly to come and watch the Year 1 Cock-a-doodle Christmas play.

The 15 elderly residents were greeted by boys and girls from the Senior School, who willingly assisted them to the theatre to take their seats.

Our guests were then entertained by our Year 1 pupils before ending their visit with tea and cakes.

Our visitors all seemed to thoroughly enjoy their day out with many already looking forward to next year’s performances and exciting things to come in the New Year.

Charities Co-Ordinator, Vicki McErlean, said: “Our Charity Champions, a small committee of girls and boys in Year 7 and 8, did a fantastic job of welcoming elderly members of the local community.

“They enjoyed the opportunity to chat about the performance and life at Crosfields before helping those less mobile to their transport.

“Our guests visibly enjoyed the performance, clapping and laughing throughout!
“It was a pleasure to welcome them to Crosfields and we look forward to them returning.

“Thank you to Shinfield View, The Liberty of Earley House, Life Care Corporation Ltd
and Belamie Gardens Rest Home for taking the time to come and watch the performance.

“It was a wonderful afternoon had by all and a partnership we hope to continue in the future.”
